Project Overview

Nebras Power IPP1 / Jordan (formerly AES Jordan PSC) operates a 400 MW combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant located east of Amman. The project was developed, is owned, and is operated by Nebras Power Jordan.

With an investment of USD 300 million, Nebras power IPP1 is considered one of the largest foreign investments in Jordan’s power sector.

The project’s financing was supported by the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), and commercial banks including Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Mashreq Bank, and Europe Arab Bank, along with a partial risk guarantee provided by the World Bank.
